Happy Word Well Wednesday!  This time of year brings much happiness to my soul.  Shop is a perfect word for today!  ‘Tis the season to peruse all things warm, wonderful and cozy!  In other words, it is time to shop!  For me, shopping isn’t always focused on spending money.  I get just as much joy from wandering the aisles of stores large and small.  I am content in grabbing a coffee and going to the small, local boutique shops to see their latest displays and bask in the scents of cinnamon and spice.  I glean decorating ideas for my own home from the product staging others have perfected.  If I shop large stores, I gravitate to the fabric, crafting, art supply ones – so much inspiration!  I admit, a few treasures do seem to end up in my basket on these excursions.

Shop refers to an establishment selling either items or a service.  Typically, shop tends to mean a small business – anything from auto, locksmith, bike, to the boutiques with clothing, jewelry and specialty home and gift items.  Whereas it used to solely apply to a brick and mortar, now shops are readily online as well.

Shop, as a verb, means to compare products or services to find the one that fits your specific needs.  We’ve experienced this recently in looking for a roofing contractor for a honey house, a small shed to store our beekeeping supplies.  Comparing service companies and product offerings can be tedious.  Differing quality of services and goods makes the process necessary.
